In Palazzolo Acreide, as in the other cities of the Val di Noto, the main architecture is in Baroque style. Just think of Palazzo Pizzi, Palazzo Puglisi Martellaro and Zucca, monuments that lay all in Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

Or the Church of San Sebastiano,  with its imposing staircase, in fact, in classic Baroque style. Curiosity of this church is the statue of the saint kept inside. The name of the artist who carved it is still unknown. Also in honor of San Sebastiano, a festival is celebrated in August, characterized by a succession of folkloristic and beautifu fireworks.

Among the things to do in Palazzolo Acreide, not only summer activities. As in almost all other neighboring cities, this village also offers attractions throughout the year. For example, in October, you can participate in the famous Agrimontana festival, an interesting gourmet event upon the flavors and smells typical of the traditional cuisine of Palazzolo Acreide. The maximum expression of this tradition are the cold cuts and wines characteristic of the region, but also the liqueurs known all over the world, such as limoncello, hazelnut and cannellino.

Do not miss the cucciuddateddi: typical sweets that can be found all year round whose recipe includes a mixture of lard, flour and sugar and a filling with dried figs, almonds, raisins, cocoa and pine nuts. A real pleasure from the first to the last bite!

To reach Palazzolo Acreide, the easiest option is to go to Ragusa. From Catania and Syracuse, in fact, just follow the signs for the city and, from there, continue to the town. It is also possible to travel by bus, thanks to the connections offered by the main closeby cities.
