The seaside villages near Marina di Ragusa: Caucana, Casuzze, Playa Grande

Blog

The southern coast of Sicily, and therefore the area that mainly concerns the province of Ragusa, is known for being characterized by long beaches with golden sand and crystalline sea.

One of the most famous seaside villages in the area is certainly Marina di Ragusa. Despite being a small village, which in winter has little more than 3000 inhabitants, in summer Marina di Ragusa is full of tourists and inhabitants of the area with their second homes.

Already starting from spring - increasing considerably in July and August - bars, restaurants, shops, beaches come alive with people. Staying in Marina di Ragusa allows you to enjoy relaxation thanks to a fantastic sea and entertainment.

On www.siciliacasevacanze.com you can choose over 16 apartments that can accommodate from 2 to 6 people equipped with all the comforts to make your holiday unforgettable.

However, if you have decided to spend your holidays or a weekend in the area do not forget to visit other seaside places near Marina di Ragusa: Caucana, Casuzze, Playa Grande. These are small villages and are less crowded than Marina di Ragusa. If you want you can look for holiday homes as apartments, villas, studios. On Siciliacasevacanze there is a wide choice.

Let's talk a bit about Caucana, Casuzze and Playa Grande.

The beach of Caucana is located between Punta Secca and Marina di Ragusa and is about 5 km far from it. Its 2 km of beach make it suitable for those who love to relax in large spaces and enjoy a clear sea. It is also perfect for families with children and has bars and restaurants within walking distance. Very close to the beach you can go to the discovery of the ancient archaeological park of Kaukana, which has remains of a settlement of the late ancient era (IV and V d.C.) consisting of just under thirty buildings, including old houses, churches and necropolises.

Just 4 km by car and a nice bike ride from Marina di Ragusa, along the coast, you will reach the hamlet of Casuzze. The small village, part of the municipality of Santa Croce Camerina, has a sandy beach just over 1 km long.

Moreover, in 2018 the beaches of Marina di Ragusa, Caucana, Casuzze (along with other beaches in the area) received the Green Flag. The important recognition is given by the Italian pediatricians to the beaches best suited to children, those that have very wide beaches, equipped with beaches, umbrellas, fine sand, clear sea with shallow water and have facilities to accommodate families with children.

Moving again from Marina di Ragusa towards Donnalucata, we recommend stopping at Playa Grande, a large strip of golden sandy beach. Playa Grande is very convenient because you can relax in peace and enjoy wide spaces and services for a perfect holiday (beach, bar, etc.).
